Firm association
FINRA says candidates must be associated with and sponsored by a FINRA member firm or other applicable SRO member firm.
Series 7 requirements
Unlike SIE, Series 7 is not a self-enrollment exam for the general public. It is tied to a sponsored representative registration path.
Eligibility
FINRA says candidates must be associated with and sponsored by a FINRA member firm or other applicable SRO member firm.
You need both SIE and Series 7 for General Securities Representative registration. Passing SIE alone does not register you.
Your firm handles the representative-level exam enrollment path. Confirm your internal deadlines before choosing a study calendar.

Study order
Ask your firm when it will enroll you, what deadline it expects, and whether it provides a prep vendor.
If you have not passed SIE, build a plan that covers SIE basics before Series 7 recommendations and transactions.
Use the free Series 7 tool to find weak product, account, recommendation, and order-handling areas.
